OAIC Non-profit
The OAIC has a non-profit branch that acts as a fundraising arm and supports our provision of direct services to Oregon communities through outreach and infrastructure support. Friends of OAIC was awarded a 501(c)3 tax determination as a public benefit charity. This status allows us to apply for certain grant funding, and to recognize donations of supplies, in-kind services, and financial contributions as tax deductions.
Friends of OAIC is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors whose mission is to support the charitable efforts of OAIC by fundraising, grantwriting, oversight of the OAIC Coordinator, and stewardship of OAIC and FOAIC funds.
We are beginning recruitment for our Board of Directors. If you are interested, and supportive of the OAIC Mission, please contact the OAIC coordinator to have informational materials sent to you. Board positions are held for three years, and require about twenty hours per year of volunteer involvement. Board meetings are typically held quarterly and can be attended remotely via teleconference. We are especially interested in Board candidates from rural areas of Oregon to provide representation for those constituents. Board membership is an ideal way to gain leadership experience, increase your connections with the public health community, make an impact on the health of Oregonians, and gain new experiences and opportunities. Clinical and non-clinical persons from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply for consideration. Prior Board experience is not necessary.
